Welcome Lauren to our team!

We’re thrilled to announce that Lauren Simpson-Gomez has joined us as our newest State Government Relations Director. In this role, Lauren will serve as the primary liaison between the American Heart Association and government officials  building relationships, tracking legislation and advocating for policies that advance public health across Alaska and Hawai’i.

Lauren earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health and is completing his Master’s in Health Policy and Management at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa. Outside of work, he enjoys free climbing, fishing, agricultural projects, live jazz, and cooking. And if baseball comes up in conversation, be prepared for a lively discussion that might never end!
