Virginia Advocates attend Hearts on the Hill Fly-in!

October 27th and 28th, advocates from across the country came together for the American Heart Association Hearts on the Hill Fly-in. Several of these advocates were from Virginia!

Advocates like Olivia Pacheco and her mother, Robin. Olivia was born with a congenital heart defect and has excelled as a dancer and community advocate, becoming an American Heart Association Teen of Impact. They and other advocates met with legislators across the state to discuss funding the HEARTS Act, which was passed into law in 2024. While the law was passed, it still needed funding, and these advocates shared their stories with the legislators about why the issue is so important to them.

We were thrilled to be joined by so many advocates. It was a great day to connect with each other on an important issue and have a little fun too!
