Two Big Wins for Health in IL!
We’re excited to share some fantastic news from Springfield — the Illinois Legislature has officially passed two critical pieces of legislation that will positively impact countless lives across our state!
Telecommunicator CPR (T-CPR) – SB 1295
This bill ensures that 9-1-1 telecommunicators are trained to provide CPR instructions over the phone, empowering bystanders to act quickly and confidently during a cardiac arrect. This is a life-saving win for public health and will ensure that all individuals across Illinois will receive this life saving instruction no matter your zip code.
Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) Expansion for Military and Veterans – SB 32
Lawmakers passed a bill expanding access to SNAP for active military and veterans. SNAP expansion helps make sure that those who serve our country don’t have to worry about putting food on their table.
These victories wouldn’t be possible without the tireless advocacy of community leaders, partners, and passionate supporters like you. Let’s take a moment to celebrate this momentum as we continue to fight for health and dignity for all Illinoisans.
