The Greg Moyer Law is enacted! PA schools are now safer!

June 1, 2026

We are thrilled to announce that the Greg Moyer Law, which supports and funds cardiac emergency response plans in PA schools, has now been signed into law!

This bill is named after Greg Moyer, who over 30 years ago died from sudden cardiac arrest while playing basketball. After his passing, his family started the Greg Moyer Foundation, who have been working tirelessly to make this law a reality in Pennsylvania.

Greg’s family, along with many other families like the Davis, Walker, Santiago, and Hall families as well as our other coalition partners have been working hard to ensure that any person at a Pennsylvania school who experiences a cardiac emergency, will get the lifesaving access to proper CPR training and AED’s as soon as possible.

Now, Pennsylvania families can rest assured that should a cardiac emergency happen, all possible help will be available to them at a Pennsylvania school.

We want to thank all the legislators who helped make this possible, but especially Senator Brown for her tireless leadership and Governor Shapiro for happily signing this legislation into law.

Pennsylvania is now the 47th state with this law in place!
