Summer update on our Advocacy work

The heat of the summer is on, and we are on fire as well! We are working hard in preparation for the next legislative session starting in January 2026.

Our focus will be on the following policy issues:

  • Cardiac Emergency Response Plans
  • Telecommunicator CPR
  • Medicaid & Postpartum Medicaid Expansion Defense
  • Tobacco Control Funding Defense

We will also be looking for opportunities to strengthen our current tobacco retail licensing provisions, as well as supporting food and nutrition assistance programs, like produce prescriptions and SNAP incentives.

During the time before the next legislative session, we are building our community-level efforts. This includes determining the best places to move forward on our smoke-free cities and improving nutrition access work.

As we work on all levels to improve the health of Idahoans, we are seeking more advocates to aid in our work so if you have family or friends interested in helping us with these policies please encourage them to register and become an advocate.
