We’re urging council members to include funding for one key investment: a Groceries on the Go stop in Jordan Park.
This funding would bring fresh fruits and vegetables directly to residents twice a month—making healthy food more accessible for families, seniors, and SNAP participants.
Groceries on the Go, a mobile grocery service from Feeding Tampa Bay, delivers affordable, nutritious food to neighborhoods with limited access. It’s a proven solution that helps people shop close to home and eat healthier.

Why Jordan Park?
Jordan Park is a historic African American housing development in South St. Petersburg. Built between 1939 and 1941, it was the city’s first public housing complex for African Americans. Today, it includes 260 units, with 60 designated for seniors.
According to the USDA Food Access Atlas, Jordan Park is located in a low-income area where residents live more than a mile from the nearest supermarket. That distance can be a major barrier—especially for those without reliable transportation.
The need is real. The 2022 U.S. Census reports that 24,830 people in the Jordan Park zip code live in poverty, and 1,461 households rely on SNAP benefits to help feed their families.
