Priorities for the 2026 Utah Legislative Session

The 2026 Utah Legislative Session starts, January 20, and we anticipate it will be a very busy one.

We will focus on a few key areas:

• Protecting access to affordable healthcare for Utahns.
• Ensuring schools are ready when a cardiac emergency happens on school grounds. By implementing a CERP (cardiac emergency response plan) schools will be better prepared if a student or adult suffers a sudden cardiac emergency on school grounds by having a plan in place and trained responders and emergency equipment on site.
• Preventing another generation from nicotine and tobacco addiction.

We also will monitor all filed legislation in case any impact the American Heart Association’s mission to be a relentless force for a world of longer, healthier lives. Thank you for being an advocate and we will be in touch to alert you to opportunities to make a difference.
