Paid Family and Medical Leave becomes law in Virginia!

Thanks to sustained advocacy efforts, Paid Family and Medical Leave (PFML) was signed into law in Virginia

This long‑awaited policy will help ensure that private sector employees no longer have to choose between their health, their loved ones, and a paycheck.

PFML will allow Virginians to take paid time away from work to:

• Care for a new child
• Support a seriously ill family member
• Address their own serious health condition
