Kansas’ legislative session is coming soon!

Kansas’ 2026 Legislative Session is right around the corner, officially beginning on January 12th. With critical decisions on the horizon, now is the time to prepare. This coming year, we will focus on a handful of policy priorities. Let’s get to know a few of them:

  1. Telecommunicator CPR (T-CPR) – Telecommunicator CPR trains 911 operators how to coach callers through performing CPR until help arrives. Every minute CPR is delayed, the chance of survival decreases by 10%. By requiring this training, we can help 911 operators and callers save lives together.
  2. Medicaid Expansion – Health care coverage is essential to building longer, healthier lives for everyone everywhere. That is why we support expanding Medicaid to ensure that all people who need health care can access it.
  3. Cardiac Emergency Response Plans (CERP) and CPR in Schools Funding – Funding is needed to help schools purchase and maintain AEDs and train students and staff in CPR. With additional resources, every school in Kansas can be prepared for a cardiac emergency.
