It’s been a busy fall in Utah
September has been a busy and exciting time for our advocacy work in Utah. We continued to make progress with key campaigns for 2026, including many conversations with coalition partners to lay the groundwork for a successful session.
We were thrilled to welcome a new committee member to our State Advocacy Committee this month. She is incredibly knowledgeable about public health, and has a particular interest in our access to care policy area which will be crucial as we continue to navigate changes to Medicaid. She is also from the Provo area, expanding the reach of our committee to more communities across the state.
We tabled at the Get Healthy Utah annual event where we were able to talk to community members and stakeholders about our focus on nutrition security. It was also meaningful to engage in our local Heart and Stroke Walk where we shared the need for a Cardiac Emergency Response Plan in Schools policy at the state level and invited walk participants to get engaged in our advocacy network, Heart Powered.
