Happy Holidays!
As we close out 2025, I want to take a moment to thank each of you—our incredible advocates across Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Vermont, and New Jersey—for the passion and energy you’ve brought to advancing heart and brain health this year.
Together, we’ve accomplished so much:
- ✅ Advocated for and celebrated the passing of the Hearts Act at the federal level.
- ✅ Helped secure the passing of CERPs in many states, strengthening emergency response preparedness.
- ✅ Ensured states continued to fund SNAP, protecting access to healthy food for families.

Looking ahead to 2026, I’m excited to continue this important work with you:
- 🌟 In Connecticut, advancing universal school meals.
- 🌟 In Vermont, pushing for paid family leave.
- 🌟 In Massachusetts, asking state lawmakers to pass CPR education for schools.
- 🌟 In Maine, ensuring Emergency Action Plans passage.
- 🌟 In New Jersey, working to pass healthy kids’ meals legislation.
- 🌟 In New Hampshire, educate the public and lawmakers on the importance of healthy school meals for all students and CPR education.
- 🌟 In Rhode Island, pushing lawmakers to Pass Smoke-Free Casinos and funding healthy school meals for all.
Your voices have made a difference in shaping healthier communities, and I am truly grateful for the time, effort, and heart you’ve dedicated to this mission. The holiday season is a time for reflection and gratitude, and I couldn’t be more proud to work alongside such a committed group of advocates.
Thank you for all you’ve done in 2025—and here’s to building even greater impact together in 2026.
Wishing you and your loved ones a joyful holiday season and a healthy new year!
Warmly,
Rebecca Scharler
