A season of planning in Nevada
May 22, 2026
With primary elections just around the corner, and the changes they will bring, we are working on assessments of where we might be able to gain traction on our priority issues. Much is up in the air until we know the new makeup of the legislature, and what happens in the Governor’s race.
As we assess our policy priorities for a new legislative landscape, we know we want to secure AEDs as part of our CERP legislation from 2025, as well as support tobacco tax legislation as it is introduced by our coalition. We are also waiting to determine if legislation and the necessary funding to support school meals for all is possible, and who we can work with to move it forward.
We also have what could be interesting opportunities around telecommunicator CPR as new efforts to improve emergency services will likely be coming forward from EMS partners, and we will collaborate wherever possible to increase support for our policy agenda.
There is a lot of unknown right now until after the 2026 elections. Once we know who we will be working with in the Legislature and the Governors office we will be able to solidify our plans for 2027.
