An update on our work ahead of the 2027 legislative session

While we eagerly await the 2027 session we are continuing our work with partners across Nevada to engage local lawmakers on a number of issues including:

• Telecommunicator CPR, and including building support for state funding next legislative session.
• Working with the Nevada Tobacco Control and Smoke-free Coalition to provide educational presentations to interim legislative committees to begin building support for our tobacco tax increase efforts. Members of the coalition presented to the Interim Committee on Health and Human Services, the Substance Use Response Working Group, and are working to secure time on a future agenda for the Joint Standing Committee on Revenue to provide details on how implementing tobacco tax increases could improve tobacco control funding.
• We continue to monitor federal changes to Medicaid , and how they impact Nevada Medicaid enrollees, as well as how the Rural Health Transformation Grant Program will be implemented across the state.

We anticipate the 2027 Legislative session will be a busy one and that is why we are doing as much ground softening to prepare now.
