2026 Rhode Island Policy Agenda

The RI Advocacy Committee chair

Your RI Advocacy Committee has been busy preparing for the year ahead. We are excited to share a preview of our policy agenda and the critical priorities that will guide our work together in 2026. It will be a challenging year for legislators as they work to comply with federal changes and cuts to vital programs. Protecting access to quality, comprehensive, and affordable health care for all Rhode Islanders will be paramount. We will also work to expand coverage of Self-Measured Blood Pressure monitoring for pregnant and postpartum patients to help prevent serious hypertension-related complications for mom and baby. And our campaign to require Cardiac Emergency Response Plans for school buildings and school athletics will also be at the forefront to strengthen cardiac arrest preparedness for students, athletes, teachers, staff, visitors, and sports fans.
