2025 Oregon Session Update
An important legislative deadline passed in early April, narrowing down the list of bills to those with a real shot at becoming law. Now, that the deadline has passed, attention shifts to the bills that made it through. If the House or Senate passes these bills, they will move to the opposite chamber for further debate and votes.
All the American Heart Association priority bills passed the deadline, with two of the three – School Meals for All and Cardiac Emergency Response Plans (CERP) – safely in the Joint Ways and Means Committee because of their budget elements. Although we are no longer under a deadline, the work continues as we await the May Revenue forecast that will inform the budget for the next biennium.
Now is the time to ensure American Heart Association priorities stay top of mind for legislators to get them over the finish line. If you live in Oregon, please message the Joint Ways and Means Education Subcommittee in support of the CERP bill and help us keep it moving.
