Time is ticking encourage your lawmakers to fund healthy programs!

Time is ticking, the Michigan Legislature needs to finalize their budget next week. Right now, the funding for Healthy School Meals for All and Cardiac Emergency Response Plans are in danger. Removing this funding strips away a program that has fed tens of thousand of kids that didn’t previously have breakfast or lunch.

In Michigan, 1 in 6 children face hunger. Children who go hungry are more likely to experience behavioral issues and health challenges. For the past two years, the Healthy School Meals Program has helped ensure that Michigan students can enter the classroom ready to learn and succeed.

Removing funding to make sure our kids are fed and that schools are better prepared to act if a cardiac arrest happens undermines lifesaving policies. You can help by encouraging your lawmakers to make sure these programs are funded.
