Join the Campaign to Prevent Deaths from Cardiac Arrest
The American Heart Association along with the NFL and the Smart Heart Sports Coalition has launched a nationwide campaign to prevent deaths from cardiac arrest, especially in high school athletes.
We are working to ensure public policies make the resources available for schools to adopt and implement Cardiac Emergency Response Plans (CERPS) including ensuring school staff are trained in CPR and AED education and have access to AEDs.
CPR, if performed immediately, can double or triple a person’s chance of survival. In schools with AEDs, approximately 70% of children survive cardiac arrest – 7X the overall survival rate for children!
You can help. Your voice is needed to urge lawmakers to adopt CERPs for their schools.
