Act now to protect access to healthcare and paid leave!
It’s a stressful time in the District and our neighbors need the peace of mind that their health and family care will be there when they need it. Unfortunately, in her 2026 budget, Mayor Bowser recommends cutting paid family leave and Medicaid benefits. We need your help urging Councilmembers to change this!
Tell your Councilmembers to restore access to health care.
At the heart of this, the Mayor proposes reducing the amount of time residents can take to care for a family member and would limit who is considered immediate family. The budget would also remove thousands of residents from Medicaid coverage and shift them to a different plan. Now is not the time to make it harder for people to stay healthy, recover from illness, or care for a family member.
Tell your Councilmembers that in this time of change, our access to health care must be protected!
