Cardiac Arrest – Share Your Story
Did you know that each year in the U.S., around 23,000 children under 18 experience cardiac arrest outside of hospitals? About 40% of these incidents occur during sports, underscoring that the risk goes beyond athletic settings.
The American Heart Association is championing legislation to implement Cardiac Emergency Response Plans (CERPs) in Washington schools. These plans ensure preparedness for sudden cardiac arrest emergencies that could affect students, faculty, coaches, or anyone on school grounds.
Do you have a personal story about cardiac arrest? Sharing your story can help legislators see the critical need for this policy. Your experiences can make a difference in ensuring our students and schools are prepared to save lives.
