Working to make Montana communities safer to walk and bike
October 7, 2026
On September 14th, the Missoula City Council heard proposed changes that would strengthen the city’s Complete Streets policy. The American Heart Association, and our volunteers, came out to support these changes.
The city council is considering final changes to the policy that we hope will make Missoula safe, accessible, and healthy place to live for the whole community.
We will keep you updated on the process, and in the meantime, message city council and say THANK YOU for supporting Complete Streets
Communities should be a place where people can safely walk, bike or roll. But too often, cities and towns are designed with only cars in mind. A strong Complete Streets policy considers the needs and perspectives of all users, prioritizes underserved communities, and involves proactive planning and coordination.
