DC needs to maintain Paid Family and Medical Leave
June 1, 2026
The Mayor has released the proposed budget for the District, and it cuts many of the programs that help keep DC healthy. One of which is paid family and medical leave.
This groundbreaking policy has helped thousands of people take time away from work to heal and care for themselves and their families. This has been especially impactful for workers and residents with the greatest need who are trying to juggle the demands of work and family while managing heart disease, stroke and other chronic conditions. Despite having a dedicated funding source, the mayor has proposed devastating cuts to the program as part of the effort to balance the budget.
Please help us stop the cuts to paid family and medical leave. This is a program that workers and employers in the district support.
Contact your District Councilmember TODAY and tell them to support maintaining paid family and medical leave funding.
