The Greg Moyer Cardiac Emergency Response Bill has moved out of the legislature!
May 11, 2026
Great news from Pennsylvania. After years of efforts, the PA legislature voted yes on SB 375, the Greg Moyer Cardiac Emergency Response Plan bill. The bill is named after Greg Moyer, who died of a cardiac arrest when playing basketball and no AED was available.
This bill would give every Pennsylvania school the tools it needs to respond fast during a cardiac emergency. With a clear plan in place, schools can act in those first critical seconds and save the lives of students, staff, and visitors. No family should ever worry that help won’t come in time.
Sudden cardiac arrest can strike anyone, at any time. When it happens, every second matters. This bill makes sure schools are ready. By requiring schools to create and follow strong emergency plans, we protect our children, support our educators, and give parents confidence that their school is prepared when it truly counts.
This is SO close to becoming law. We are just waiting on Governor Shapiro to vote yes and PA schools will be safer!
Thanks to everyone who took part and made this important legislation a reality!
