Priorities for the 2026 Oregon Legislative Session

The Oregon Legislative Session is starting soon and we expect it will be a very busy 35 days.

We will focus on a few key areas:

• Continuing our work on cardiac emergency response plans in schools and athletics (CERPs) to ensure schools are ready when a cardiac emergency happens on school grounds.
• Expanding access to school meals through targeted investments.
• Working to prevent another generation from tobacco addiction and falling victim to the tobacco industries’ newest products, like oral nicotine pouches.

We also will monitor all filed legislation in case any impact the American Heart Association’s mission to be a relentless force for a world of longer, healthier lives.
