Happy Holidays, Midwest!

As we enter the holiday season, our hearts are filled with gratitude. It has been another incredible year for the Midwest in advocacy, in no small part due to the dedication of our Heart Powered volunteers. Your generosity, time, and powerful voices are the heart and soul of the American Heart Association’s mission.

Across the Midwest, we have made strides toward ensuring longer, healthier lives for everyone everywhere. From the Great Lakes to the rolling plains of the Heartland, we’re building a future where every state has the tools to thrive. We are creating healthier workplaces, equipping our schools for cardiac emergencies, investing in community-led solutions, and empowering individuals to use their stories and voices to make a difference.

In 2025, advocates in all 13 Midwest states came together to impact heart-healthy policy at our state lobby days. Over 600 participants traveled to state capitols, from Columbus, Ohio, to Pierre, South Dakota, to champion cardiac emergency response plans, smoke-free air, and telecommunicator CPR, among other policies. The real-life impact of the laws passed as a result of your advocacy equates to thousands of lives saved from sudden cardiac arrest, heart disease, and stroke.

None of this is possible without you. Your vision and commitment are the foundation of our progress. Together, we are uniting to change the future of health.
